Spring has sprung….kinda….
Spring 2014 is shaping up to be an exciting time in construction and one of the busiest building seasons we’ve seen in years. Home inventories are down, building permits (and spirits) are up.
More clients are moving from the contemplation and planning stages to the drawing and ground breaking phase of construction. New construction starts for 2014 appear to be following a more historical spring increase unlike the later summer / fall trend seen over the past few years.
As a result, demand for natural stone products is high. Longer lead times are exacerbated by Mother Nature’s relentless frozen grip on some of the regions that produce the stones we love. PRB Signature Series products from the Chief Cliff, Clark Fork, Great Basin Quartzite collections are gathered from Rocky Mountain quarries and areas that had real winters this year. And while most of our quarries spent the fall producing and staging inventory for the spring rush much of that stock will be spoken for at the first sign of warm weather.
If the construction schedule of your home or commercial project will get to the masonry phase this spring or summer we recommend grabbing your spot in line now. PRB has already been placing provisional orders and staking our claim for future production from our partner quarries. While your project may not be ready for masonry yet, contacting us now to let us know your upcoming needs will give us the opportunity to make sure your stone is available when you need it.
